This was stop two following the waterfall hike on our drive around the island. We had really only planned it as a quick stop to visit the famed Hotel California but found the town to be so darn cute and colorful that we spent a couple of hours walking around it. By this time we had worked up quite a thirst and were told that the best award winning margaritas could be found directly across from the Hotel California at a place called Tequila Sunrise. We grabbed a seat outside and were served a couple of very large margaritas and, after three, I can say that I don’t think they were the best I’ve had (I’d give that honor to the one we had earlier at the waterfall cantina) but they were going down easy. Since we had a rental car and had about an hour drive back to the Riu, we decided to run across the street and see if they had a room at the Hotel California. How fun would that be…..right? Certainly more fun that being pulled over and put in a Mexican jail for drunk driving. And they did, so I checked us in and we proceeded to have one more margarita along with some outstanding fish tacos and, after it all, staggered across the street. I’d definitely return to Todos Santos but maybe next time on the bus.
