99. Escalante National Monument – Escalante, UT

Probably one of the best parts of the trip was the drive along Scenic Byway 12 through Escalante National Monument. With beautiful panoramic vistas in every direction, we must have pulled over 20 times to take photos. We also stopped in the little town of Escalante for lunch. Not a huge selection of restaurants but Escalante Outfitters Café was a great find and the sandwiches and paninis were made to order and delicious. They also […]

98. Capitol Reef National Park – Torrey, UT

Capitol Reef was one of the places we had planned to stop that I didn’t know a lot about and wasn’t that excited to see. But my bucket list item of visiting every National Park in the US warranted a stop at the visitor center with my National Parks Passport. We had planned on just stopping there, getting the stamp, and then heading out but it was such a beautiful day and the park and […]

97. Bryce Canyon National Park – Bryce Canyon, UT

The second stop on our trip was Bryce Canyon National Park. I’m not sure why but it has been on my list since I was a little girl.  Maybe it’s those crazy hoodoos that are unlike anything else on earth. The colors, the sheer vastness of it and, like most breathtaking landscapes, pictures don’t do it any justice. The main disadvantage of traveling by motorcycle however is the inability to pack everything needed for a […]

96. Zion National Park – Springdale, UT

Zion National Park was our very first stop on our nine day Grand Circle Tour motorcycle trip. I’ll start off by saying that when we ride at home, I don’t ride on gravel or in the rain….ever! We started the morning with a beautiful short hike to the waterfall but the weather looked like it was going to turn and we had a long drive ahead of us so we left before we really had […]

95. Las Vegas Strip – Las Vegas, NV

I know so many people (gamblers and not) who think this place is the bomb and go back year after year.  I, however, am not one of those people. While gambling is not my cup of tea anyway, there is nothing about the strip that appeals to me. I’m not knocking the people who like going, I’m just more of an outdoor, scenery kind of girl. But, just like Bourbon Street in New Orleans or […]

94. St. Johns – Antigua, West Indies

St. Johns is the capital and largest city in Antigua. We only went there for the day, wihich I think was plenty, and were lucky to have been when no cruise ship was in port. Very clean and cute with brightly colored buildings and plenty of great souvenir shopping.  Had a nice lunch and drinks at Hemingways.

93. Swimming with the Stingrays – Stingray City, Antigua

We chose to do a half day out swimming with the stingrays adventure on our Antigua trip and Stingray City was recommended by our hotel. We had such a wonderful time with this company and I would also recommend them. On arrival you’re briefed comprehensively on safety and stingray protocol and then whisked off on a short boat ride to a shallow reef with an army of stingrays swimming towards you. And, if you hold […]

92. Shirley Heights – Antigua West Indies

Shirely Heights is a famous spot on the island to party and watch the sun set. While the ride up there was quite long and bumpy, it was well worth it to see the harbor and that gorgeous sunset. There are local crafters there selling their wares at a bargain and some great musicians. The selection of food was limited and, in general, not that tasty either and the drinks are expensive. But the atmosphere is […]
