Another hard to miss icon of the London skyline is the London Eye. The huge ferris wheel is visible from almost everywhere and all the major landmarks are visible from the top. Of course, the ride should be considered a must do if you’re visiting London and don’t be put off by the extremely long queue as it goes down quickly. Once inside, I think your experience will depend on who is in the pod with you – we had a few foreign tourists with sharp elbows who weren’t willing to share the space but I’ve got a few sharp elbows of my own. Nonetheless, the views were amazing. The weather was perfect and the sun just setting when we went up. I couldn’t have asked for better pictures with Big Ben, Houses of Parliament, and the beautiful River Thames as a backdrop. The eye moves so slowly that you hardly even notice, and although I’m not a huge fan of heights this wasn’t too bad at all.
