We were especially excited about a stop here at Durty Nelly’s Pub as we have a bar by the same name very close to our home which we have been frequenting since our teenage years and is based on this original location. It was again unseasonably warm and sunny and we opted to sit outside and enjoy a quick bite and pint before heading across the street to Bunratty Castle and Folk Park (posted separately). This is a very old building with many rooms, fireplaces, and nooks and crannies (I think there are some cobwebs dating back 100 years). Policeman and fireman from all over the world come and bring patches to stick on the wall and we actually did see one from our home town. Atmosphere is what this place is all about and one should not expect a gourmet meal by any stretch. They do, however, serve up some good drinks and conversation and I’d recommend a stop.
