The Palouse is not really a place exactly but a region filled with many, many places.  The area covers 4,000 square miles (and I certainly didn’t plan to see all of it) but I did plan to spend the entire day driving through what I could.  I headed out in my rental car on my own with my backpack, camera and a few snacks.  It was a gloriously sunny day, radio on with blue skies and white puffy clouds.  When I told my friends and family where I was headed, no one had ever heard of The Palouse.  In fact, I hadn’t either until I started researching the area prior to my trip and once I saw others photos of that beautiful landscape, I had to go.  The photo opportunities are endless.  Rolling hills of every shade of green, 100 year old barns, wildflowers – my kind of stuff. and I could have easily kept driving for days.  All in all, I had a great day and got some great shots.  I imagine that every season would be a treat and worthwhile visit providing different colors and changing landscapes.
