Our cute as can be Tuscan cottage (another great airbnb.com find https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/2287242) is a place I’ll forever remember and I knew as soon as I saw the door knocker that I had chosen the best place for us. Rather than feeling like visitors, we felt like part of the hilltop community thanks in part to Filippo, the cottage owner. And while there are no shops, restaurants, or businesses of any kind in Cennina (plenty are located just a 5-10 minutes drive away), the privacy and view made up for it. Located in the Chianti region, we found it to be a perfect base for exploring with most all of Tuscany’s highlights within an hours drive.

We loved cooking our own breakfasts with fresh bread, eggs and sausages bought locally and one of our fondest memories of the entire trip was cooking dinner at the cottage while listening to Italian music and eating next to a lovely fire. Another favorite was sitting on the patio after a long day exploring with some wine and nibbles we had bought in one of the quaint villages we visited that day.

This video should make you hungry enough to book a trip in a hurry to your own Tuscan cottage…

And did I mention the sunrise view from the bedroom–I’ll let the pictures speak for themsleves.
